Grow Old With Me

"Grow old with me" is one of the last songs that John Lennon wrote. A man who fought anger, resentment, depression - a man who had a difficult childhood and family life. But the words of this song tell a new story - a new beginning - a settling down. These words ring so true to me in my own life - in my marriage. Maybe this song also speaks to you, in your marriage...

Grow old along with me
The best is yet to be
When our time has come
We will be as one
God bless our love
God bless our love

Grow old along with me
Two branches of one tree
Face the setting sun
When the day is done
God bless our love
God bless our love

Spending our lives together
Man and wife together
World without end
World without end

Grow old along with me
Whatever fate decrees
We will see it through
For our love is true
God bless our love
God bless our love

some kudos to robert browning for that one....

i never could forgive lennon for releasing "imagine" while he was being chaufferred around in rolls royces with television in the back seat and living in a mansion ( i remember this from his interview on the david frost show at the time)"imagine no possessions" uh huh....

still, you gotta give him kudos for releasing that 2nd plastic ono band album, which has to be the most unlistenable album ever released by a major star:

"whywhywhywhyiiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!"
